The sliding car roof pivots at its leading end and is closed off at the rear by an extensible cover, whose extension arms are operated by a drive handle fitted to the cover. A locking device on the cover works with roof-fitted thrust bearings to lock the set cover. A first bolting mechanism i.e. guide slots (81,82), drivers (70,71), bolt nose, and axial groove only allows the cover arm handle (53) to be turned in the front end setting of the cover, but prevents handle movement in other settings. ADVANTAGE - Protection against faulty handling and consequent damage.
