The strut consists of two telescopic tubes. To the inner tube (2), is fitted a head plate (4) on a spacing sleeve (15). The lower shoulder (16) of the sleeve rests on an outer socket (8), which is threaded onto the lower, external tube (1). The thread connection of the outer socket and the handles (8') allows fine adjustment of the strut. A bolt hole (14) through the sleeve and inner tube allows an arm of a double U-shaped fitting to pass through and also to bear on the upper edge of the socket.
