Coconut shells are crushed to be steeped in water for 48 hours and then dehydrated under a press roll. The mass of the dehydrated coconut fibre is compressed over a fine meshed screen for the fibre to pass through the screen to be collected by raking for separation into the long and short fibre groups. A mixture of long fibre 50 % and short fibre 50 % is twisted into a rope to be wound into a coil, which is beaten to be swelled to form a sheet of a thickness. The sheet is spray coated with a thermosetting elastic material to be hardened and cut into rectangular shape, so that both the end sections are melt fused for joining to produce a pillow of good cushion.
