The magnetic tape recording system has recording and playback pickups mounted around the periphery of a disc (10) that is located between a pair of heads drums. The disc has an integral sleeve (14) with a hole in which a clamping bush (27) is inserted. This is formed at the end of the drive spindle. At the centre of the bush is a spacer element (30) that has clamping bolts (28,29) at either end. These thread together with a loading being provided by a pair of spring discs (32,33). The discs have radial spring arms. ADVANTAGE - Provides rapid head disc change.
