PURPOSE:To attain excellent transmission by sending a field in the order of 1st and 2nd and sending a 2nd field fetching error code when a 2nd transmission field is the same as a 1st field in the case of frame transmission. CONSTITUTION:When a reproduced picture is fetched in memories 38, 40, picture transmission is attained and information representing whether field transmission or frame transmission and information representing an odd number or an even number when the field transmission are sent. Then a recorded picture data of the memories 38, 40 is sequentially read and a modulation circuit 56 modulates the data in matching with the communication characteristic of the telephone line and the result is sent to a telephone line. When the transmission of a picture data by one field is finished, the 2nd field is sent in the case of the field transmission. When the discrimination result from a field discrimination circuit 80 represents the same discrimination result as that of a preceding transmission, a CPU 48 sends the 2nd field fetching error code and the transmission end code and the 2nd field fetching error is displayed on a monitor 42. |
