摘要 A processing method for stereo image transmission involves a mixed image computed from the left and right image data. The magnitude of the left image and the phase of the right image are used in a Fourier transformation process. A difference image is obtained by subtraction of the right image from the mixed image on a point for point basis. This results in a sign change and a generated bit pattern is transmitted instead of the right image. The left image is transmitted unchanged. The images are reconstructed within the receiver. ADVANTAGE - Similarities between both images of stereo pair made useful for efficient coding.
