The invention relates to a gear pump comprising a housing provided with an inlet and an outlet duct and two externally toothed gears, the bearings of which are mounted sealed against the pumped substance in the housing. The object of the present application is, by simple means, to reduce the wear and so design the gear pump that it efficiently pumps even those rubber compounds which are difficult to pump without any reduction in service life. The invention lies in the fact that the seals in the form of a delivery spiral for return of pumped substance are arranged on the ends of the gears in order to separate the pump chamber from the bearing of the gears.
