The extractor tool has a shaft (2) onto which is attached a tapered sleeve (3). The shaft and tapered sleeve fit into a cylindrical tube (1) which has a tapered hole (6) and slots machined into its walls to accept toothed inserts (4). By moving the shaft (2) in the direction of the arrow relative to the outter sleeve (1) the toothed inserts (4) are forced outwards and engage into the inside wall of the pipe to be extracted. Further movement in the same direction causes the pipe to be loosened from its holder. The machined slots and inserts (4) have radiused ends. USE/ADVANTAGE - To loosen and remove pipes from, for example, heat exchangers. Is less prone to breakage than conventional pipe extraction tools.
