The flat joint, is in two or more layers (I,II) sliding in relation to each other. These can be of different materials, pref. aluminium and steel, and with solid lubricant, pref. graphite or molybdenum disulphide, and with a bonding agent, between them. This lubricant can be at areas under high pressure, partic. those of the combustion chambers. At all overhanging positions there can be an external layer forming a three-dimensional sealing surface complementary to the bending movement of the surfaces to be sealed, and with a durable adhesive forming a permanent joint under operating conditions.
