PURPOSE:To shorten the time for color still picture retrieval on the color still picture file device. CONSTITUTION:An edge extraction part 2 extracts the edge of still picture data 111 from a still picture storage part 1. An edge picture storage part 3 stores the edge picture data 121 extracted by the edge extraction part 2. The edge picture data stored in the edge picture storage part 3 is passed through an external storage interface part 5 and stored on an external storage medium while made to correspond to still picture data 15 from the still picture storage part 1. |
