PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of a switching element due to heat and miniaturize the cooling structure, and reduce the cost by reducing the limit value of a switching element voltage when the on-off cycle of the switching element is short, and as a result, suppressing the excessive loss in the switching element, in an induction heating cooker used in general homes. CONSTITUTION:This cooker is porivded with a switching element voltage detection circuit 6, which detects the switching element voltage generated at both sides of a switching element, an on-off cycle detecting circuit 7, which detects the on-off cycle of the switching element, a switching elment voltage limiting circuit 8, which limits the swistching element voltage into the limit values at N stages corresponding to the on-off cycle of the switching element, and a controller 9, which controls the on-off of the switching element so that the input current from the AC power source may be a specified value within the range of the limitation by the switching element voltage limiting circuit. |
