PURPOSE:To shorten the arithmetic processing time for obtaining binary pictures by using two arithmetic units which output the value indicating either a large or small set CT value with respect to the CT value of image information and form binary signals dividedly in the case the outputs thereof are both of large values and other cases. CONSTITUTION:The CT value which is larger than the CT value of the bone and the CT value smaller than the tissue of the soft part are previously applied as storage information to the arithmetic unit 204. The CT value smaller than the CT value of the bone is previously applied as storage information to the arithmetic unit 205. Respective sets of the image information from original images are respectively simultaneously inputted to the respective arithmetic units. The positive or negative value of the CT value is computed from the difference between the CT value as the storage information and the CT value of the image information in the arithmetic unit 204.
