PURPOSE: To equalize linearly modulated signals received one block by one block or one frame by one frame on a radio channel. CONSTITUTION: The impulse response of a channel is estimated during training sequences before and after a frame and, in addition, interpolation is used for estimating the impulse response at each point in the frame. Then the coefficients 24 and 25 of an equalizer for equalizing signals are calculated from the impulse responses. This method is practically useful for a ground type mobile radio system using the 16QAM modulation system or another linear modulation system. |
