PURPOSE:To attain compactness and improve damping performance in a high torque damper for a door or the like by rotating a rotating member relatively in a casing filled with a viscous fluid so as to rotate a movable valve locked, with play in the rotating direction, at the rotating member and thereby to change the resistance of the viscous fluid according to the rotating direction. CONSTITUTION:When a rotating member 5 is rotated clockwise, a protruding part 6 comes in contact with the suspended wall 22 of a movable valve 7, and performs inertial rotation in the same direction. At this time, a viscous fluid 2 flows in a play space 31 formed with the protruding part 6 in the sequence of a passage 9 of large area a passage 10 a suspended wall 21, so that flow resistance is small, and thereby torque is small. When the rotating member 5 is rotated reversely, the protruding part 6 of the rotating member 5 comes in contact with the suspended wall 21, and the movable valve 7 is turned in the reverse direction. At this time, the viscous fluid 2 passes a small passage 8, so that resistance becomes large, and thereby large torque is generated. |
