<p>On a frame 1 of a window, door or the like composed of metal or plastic sections, the rebate face 4 has a guide channel 5 which is open on one side but is equipped on both sides with undercuts 6 in the cross-sectional direction and which is intended for the longitudinally displaceable accommodation of a driving rod. The driving rod located in the guide channel 5 is coupled from the open side of the latter to an actuating mechanism which has a pinion 14 mounted in a housing and drivable by an operating handle. In the installation region of the actuating mechanism, the metal or plastic section of the frame 1 is equipped with a perforation 22 which passes through the bottom 8 of the guide channel 5 and through which extends the housing portion 15 of the actuating mechanism containing the pinion 14.
