Tetrahydrothionopyridine derivatives of formula (I) with kappa-receptor agonist activity are potentially useful in the treatment of inter alia pain and cerebral ischaemia. X and Y, which may be the same or different, are each hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl or together form a -CO(CH2)3- or -(CH2)n- group, in which n is 3 or 4; R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen, linear or branched C1-6 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl or C4-12 cycloalkyl alkyl or together form a C2-8 polymethylene group; and R3 is hydrogen or methyl. |
