PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion by judging the KATAKANA(the square Japanese syllabary)orthography of an unknown word, HIRAGANA(Cursive form of Japanese syllabary) orthography, the part of speech on English and Japanese as against the character string of reading. CONSTITUTION:When the character string of reading, 'radeikaruna mondaiwo' for example, is converted into 'radical na mondai wo', a KANA-KANJI conversion part 103 retrieves a word dictionary part 102, obtains 'na' and 'mondai', whereby 'radeikaru'h is assumed to be the unknown word. Then, an unknown word orthography judgement part 105 retrieves a character string table for KATAKANA orthography 106 and a character string table for HIRAGANA orthography 107, and decides the character string 'dei' to be KATAKANA orthography. Then, an unknown word part of speech judgement part 108 retrieves a character string table for judging part of speech 109 and judges the character string of the termination of a word 'karu' to be an adverb. Furthermore, 'na' is judged to be the termination of the word of the adverb, and it is HIRAGANA orthogtaphy. |
