SOLID ELECTROLYTE FUEL CELL

摘要

PURPOSE:To safely operate a unit generating cell and a cell group even if crack occurs in a solid electrolyte layer of the unit generating cell of a solid electrolyte fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:In a unit generating cell in a three-layer structure of an oxygen electrode 2, a fuel electrode 3 and a solid electrolyte 1 placed therebetween, the fuel electrode 3 is laminated with porous Ni alloy 4. If crack 5 occurs in part of the solid electrolyte 1, part of the porous Ni alloy 4 is melted near the crack 5 at a high local temperature arising from heating reaction of fuel gas with oxygen to cover the crack 5.
