PURPOSE:To stabilize running of a tape and make quick reverse running possible by winding the magnetic tape around tape hubs from the inside so that the tape running direction in the front face and that in the rear face of a driving belt are opposite to each other. CONSTITUTION:An endless driving belt 21 is wound around rollers 22, 23, and 24, and driving rollers 46 and 47 which drive the belt are provided in two, left and right positions, and only one of driving rollers is used to run the belt in a high speed. A magnetic tape 28 is wound around tape hubs 26 and 27 from the inside so that the running direction of the belt 21 along the face facing head inserting faces 39-43 and that in the head sliding face of the tape 28 are opposite to each other, and the driving roller 47 is used when the tape 28 is wound up around the tape hub 26, and the driving roller 46 is used when the tape 28 is wound up around the tape hub 27. Thus, a tension is given naturally to the tape in case of forward rotation as well as backward rotation to make stable running possible. |
