PURPOSE: To improve the visibility of various information display by providing two image sources for providing first and second imaging illumination, and providing a combiner and an optical means so as to be able to feed a plurality of different display selectively in the same position. CONSTITUTION: A virtual image display device is provided with a first image source 11 and a plane combiner 13 for reflecting at least a part of imaging illumination from the first image source 11, and at least a part of second imaging illumination from a second image source is transmitted through the plane combiner 13. The first imaging illumination reflected by the plane combiner 13, and the second imaging illumination transmitted through the plane combiner 13 are directed toward a negative power aspheric off-axis mirror 15. Illumination from the mirror 15 enters a positive power aspheric off-axis mirror 17 for converging reflected illumination. Illumination reflected by the mirror 17 passes through a curved protective aperture 19, and speed, engine speed, oil temperature, oil pressure, direction indication, and the like are displayed and read. |
