PURPOSE:To shorten the releasing time lag in the range finder of a camera having a multipoint range finding function and a mobile object range finding function. CONSTITUTION:The range to an object in the center of a screen is found by a first range finding means 101 and if it is long distance exceeding a prescribed range, it is discriminated as a void and the range finding to the peripheral object is carried out by a second range finding means 102. Meanwhile, the mobile body is detected by a mobile body detecting means 103 if the range finding value in the center of the above-mentioned screen is within the prescribed range. Thus, the camera is focused on the object even when the object is not in the center of the screen or is moved, and the releasing time lag is shortened. |
