PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for transferring an ink by minimizing a shock to be applied to the ink. CONSTITUTION: In the printer, a transfer roller mechanism 25 for transferring an ink from an ink fountain roller 12 rotating at a low speed to an ink transfer roller 14 rotating at a high speed has a support piece 36 and first, second freely rotating rollers 26, 28. The rollers are brought into rotatably transfer contact with one another rotating in opposite directions and supported by a support piece 36. In one embodiment, the mechanism 25 moves between a first position for receiving the ink from the roller 12 in contact with the roller 26 and a second position for transferring the ink by bringing the roller 28 into contact wit the roller 14. |
