PURPOSE:To obtain a good join line by making a portable small joining apparatus easily movable and making the distance of movement of the apparatus easily controllable in the case where rubber sheets each with a wide area used for preventing a roof of a building, the bottom of a lake, a waste treating lot, etc., from leakage of water are thermocompression-bonded together every short distance such as 1-2m by means of the joining apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets to be joined are spread and arranged in such a way that the end edge parts are overlapped and a plurality of guide rails for a truck are laid on one of the sheets in series and in parallel with the end edge of the sheet and the joining apparatus is moved on these guide rails every specified length by means of the movable truck and the guide rails on which the truck has passed are taken out and are laid successively in order again in the front of moving direction of the truck.
