PURPOSE:To provide the title novel agent containing, as active ingredient, colominic acid or a partial hydrolyzate thereof, having nephritis-inhibitory effect and platelet coagulation-inhibitory effect. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent containing, as active ingredient, (A) colominic acid of the formula ((n) is 0-10) made up of sialic acid (N- acetylneuraminic acid) as constituent unit, with a molecular weight of ca.10000, which is a polysaccharide representing a criterion for serum-type classification for Escherichia coil or Meningitis diplococcus, etc., or (B) a partial hydrolyzate thereof or (C) a pharmaceutically permissible salt thereof. The present therapeutic agent is useful because of the need for medicines having platelet coagulation- inhibitory effect for the purpose of nephritis therapy. |
