The present invention relates to a device for use in lorries having a loading space the opening of which can be closed by means of a gate 3,4 which can be swung up about an upper hinge 6 and is divided into an upper gate 3 and a lower gate 4 which is mounted pivotably by means of a lower hinge 7 in the lower edge of the said upper gate. In order to reduce and shorten the space which the gate 3,4 takes up when the gate is swung up, calculated in the longitudinal direction of the lorry, according to the invention a cable or other flexible pull mechanism 9, which is fastened by its one end 10 in the frame of the opening 2, is found at a distance from the upper hinge 6 of the upper gate 3, which pull mechanism is drawn around a pulley 11 disposed in the upper gate at the just-stated distance from the upper hinge 6 and thereafter along the upper gate to a second pulley 12 situated at the just- stated distance from the hinge 7 of the lower gate 4, after which the other end 13 of the pull mechanism is fastened in the lower gate at the just-stated distance from the lower hinge 7 so that, when the upper gate 3 is swung up, the pull mechanism is stretched and swings the lower gate 4 in the direction of the loading space against the bottom side of the swung-up upper gate 3. <IMAGE> |
