PURPOSE:To enhance transfer properties, coloring properties and various fastnesses and to obtain a sharp cyan color by using a cyan dye represented by a specific chemical formula as the cyan dye for thermal transfer recording used in a sublimation type thermal transfer recording method. CONSTITUTION:A cyan dye for thermal transfer recording useful in a sublimation type thermal transfer recording system for taking a hard copy from the temporary image of a television, a video or a still video camera is represented by chemical formula (1) (wherein R1 and R2 are a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group, R3 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group or an alkyl group, R4 is a 5- or 6-membered cycloalkenyl group which may have a substituent, R5 and R6 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group and X is a hydrogen atom or an atom or atom group forming a 5- or 6-membered ring along with R1). |
