The present invention relates to imido functional polyethers having recurring units of the formula <CHEM> having a molecular weight of from about 5000 to about 50000 , in which m is an integer of from 1 to 3, X is -O-, -SO- or -SO2-, R is a radical of the formula <CHEM> in which Y is -CH2-, -CH(R2)-, C(R2)2-, or -CH2-CH2-, and R2 is lower alkyl, R1 independently of another is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkoxy, cyano, phenyl, or phenoxy, and n is an integer of from 0 to 2. These polyethers can be used as tougheners for epoxy, bismaleimide and polyimide resin systems. |
