<p>A composition for treating a wells having a metal tubular therein, which composition comprises: (a) an aqueous acid solution; (b) at least one first metal ion which is Sb, Bi or Cu; (c) at least one second metal ion, which is Ca, Mg, Al, Zn, Zr or Sn, the mole ratio of the first metal ion(s) to the second metal ion(s) being from 1:10 to 10:1; (d) one or more quaternary aromatic ammonium compounds complexed with the first and second metal ions, the concentration of the quaternary ammonium compound and the metal ions complexed therewith being from 0.1 to 10 weight % of the aqueous acid solution; and (e) an effective amount of a surfactant to disperse the complexed metal ions in the acid solution. l</p> |
