The invention concerns a mechanical device for joining the ends of a continuous conveyor belt, in particular a band elevator. The belt ends are taken out of the plane of movement of the belt and clamped together between at least two shaped pieces located on the outside of the belt. The shaped pieces are connected to each other by bolts which pass through them and hold them under compressive stress. The aim of the invention is to improve a device of this kind with regard to the tendency of the belt ends to slip. To this end, the invention calls for a tensioned spring (20) to be fitted between part of the bolt (bolt head (18), nut (19)) and the shaped piece (15, 16). |
