1. A method of removing copper from electrolyte being withdrawn from electrorefining of copper, containing in 1 dm<3> about 35-55 g of copper, 150-200 g of sulphuric acid, 5-20 g of nickel and 2-15 g of arsenic, by means of electrolysis conducted at a current density 50-250 A/m<2>, at a temperature between 20 and 65 degrees C, preferably 60 degrees C, characterized in that during the copper removal process, when the content of copper in the electrolyte equal to 15-20 g/dm<3> is obtained, air is delivered to the electrolyte in an amount 10-100 dm<3>/min, preferably 50 dm<3>/min, per 1 m<2> of the active cathode surface, and while continuing the electrolysis process, the electrolyte is stirred with the use of air until the concentration of copper ions in the electrolyte equal to 2-5 g/dm<3> is obtained, and then the electrolysis is conducted by the already known methods until copper content in the electrolyte below 1 g/dm<3> is obtained.
