MANUFACTURE OF NOT SINTERED NICKEL CATHODE

摘要

PURPOSE:To adjust the viscosity of a slurry and impregnate a substrate with the slurry uniformly and stably by adding an alkali to the slurry in manufacture of a not sintered nickel cathode. CONSTITUTION:The viscosity of a slurry for a not sintered-type nickel cathode is adjusted by adding an alkali. Cobalt hydroxide powder contained in the slurry adsorbs the alkali and becomes gel by adding the alkali to the slurry and thus the viscosity of the slurry increases and the slurry is adjusted. Furthermore, carbonate concentration increase owing to the addition amount of the alkali is suppressed to low level and does not affect the battery characteristics.
