SABAR EXTRACT, ITS PREPARATION, AND ITS USE

PURPOSE: To obtain a sabal extract, provide a method for preparing the same extract and use the method. CONSTITUTION: This sabal extract from sabal serrulatum and serenoa repens containing a large amount of sabal ester is standardized by 12-18wt.%, preferably 15wt.% total amount and characterized by content of caprylic acid, lauric acid and myristic acid. Oily dried extract rich in sabal ester has antiandrogen and antioozing effect higher than that of conventional ethanol or tincture extract having <5wt.% sabal ester content and can be used together with conventional auxiliary and addition substance in order to prepare pharmaceutical formulation or medicine. This method for producing sabal extract comprises keeping pH value of ethanol-immersed material to about 3 until sabal ester content becomes 12-18% based on dried extracted material.
