According to this method, preformed turns (10) of the said wire are dropped into a forming pit (1) which has a substantially cylindrical wall with a vertical axis, where they are superposed in order to form a bobbin (7). As the turns (10) fall, a radial force of attraction towards the wall of the pit (1) is exerted on them, the direction of this force being stimulated by a movement of rotation about the axis of the pit. The attraction force is preferably generated by a rotating magnetic field.
