<p>PURPOSE:To realize the liquid crystal display device which is improved in the reliability of the correction of a luminescent point picture element and not limited in correction position. CONSTITUTION:When the luminescent point picture element 5 is detected, the periphery of the surface on the same irradiation path with the luminescent point picture element 5 on a glass substrate 2 positioned on the incidence side of a liquid crystal display panel 1 is irradiated with the laser beam 10 from an excimer laser oscillator 9 to carry out excimer laser etching, thereby forming a rough surface 17 at the irradiated part of the glass substrate 2. Consequently, when this device is applied to a projection device, light transmitted through the luminescent point picture element 5 is reduced, so the luminescent point picture element on a display screen is corrected into a state wherein its defect is inconspicuous as compared with other normal picture elements at the periphery.</p> |
