<p>The improved silver halide photographic material is provided which contains a compound of the general formula (I): <CHEM> wherein R1 and R2 each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group or a heterocyclic group; Z1 and Z2 each represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary for forming a 5- to 7-membered ring; X1 and X2 each represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or =N-R3; R3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group, a heterocyclic group or -OR4; R4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group or a heterocyclic group; L1 - L5 each represents a methine group; and n1 and n2 each represents an integer of 0, 1 or 2.</p> |
