PURPOSE:To provide the title lubricating oil excellent in the compatibility with hydrogen-contg. CFCs and lubricating performance, containing, as the main component, a polymer obtained by polymerizing an acrylic ester monomer using as initiator e.g. an alkali metal salt of alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricating oil containing, as the main component, an acrylic ester polymer of formula II which can be obtained by polymerizing an acrylic ester monomer of formula I (R<1>-R<3> are each H or 1-8C hydrocarbon; R<4> is 1-10C divalent hydrocarbon or 2-20C divalent ether link oxygen-contg. hydrocarbon; R<5> is 1-10C hydrocarbon; m is 1-10 on average) using as an initiator an alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt or organometallic compound of alcohol or phenol. |
