The invention relates to a process for the preparation of an aqueous emulsion of microspheres in oil comprising a system of gelatine microspheres in the form of a gel containing the active ingredient, the said microspheres being surrounded by oil to form an emulsion of microspheres in oil (s/o) and the said s/o emulsion being dispersed in an aqueous phase in which the proportion of the three phases is from 1 to 10% of the internal phase, 20 to 30% of the oil phase and 60 to 80% of the external aqueous phase.
