MANUFACTURE OF FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN SHEET AND ITS DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide a means for manufacturing fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheets stably for a long time by feeding thermoplastic resin of high melting temperature as impalpable powder resin. CONSTITUTION:A fiber sheet 11 drawn out of a fiber rack 6 and oriented by an orientation device 10 is brought into contact with thermoplastic resin fed from a resin feeding tray 30 of an impalpable powder thermoplastic resin feeding device 14 onto a lower belt 15 by an impregnation device 3, and the sheet is impregnated with resin by passing through hot rolls 17-22 clamped between the lower belt and an upper belt 16 to form a fiber reinforced resin sheet. The sheet is wound on a winding device 4 to manufacture a product. As thermoplastic resin of high melting temperature is made into a film on a belt directly without using an extruder, a gelatinized substance formed out of the resin remained in the extruder is not generated, by which the continuous operation can be carried out for a long time.
