32 WATER SOLUBLE COPOLYMERS PREPARED FROM VINYL FUNCTIONAL MONOMERS Compositions are disclosed which are useful in coating and ink applications. Such compositions comprise a copolymer of at least one vinyl ester monomer and at least one vinyl functional acid-containing monomer in which the vinyl group is separated by at least two atoms from the acid group, the copolymer more preferably having a number average molecular weight of less than 10,000 and being substantially water soluble in the neutralized state.
