PURPOSE:To offer an optical relay transmission system with simple circuit configuration and easy to increase the number of monitoring items. CONSTITUTION:Information is encoded to a binary number based on a binary code rule by a monitoring information encoder part 15, and the bit interval of CMI violation of a principal signal is controlled by a transmission counter part 14 according to such encoded monitoring information. Also. the CMI violation is added on the principal signal by a CMI violation insertion part 12 under the control of the transmission counter part 14, and the CMI violation of the principal signal is detected by a CMI violation detecting part 16. Furthermore, the bit interval of the CMI violation detected by the CMI violation detecting part 16 is counted by a reception counter part 17. Original monitoring information can be reproduced from the count value of the bit interval counted by the reception counter part 17 by a monitoring information decoder part 18. |
