PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, containing a specific copolymer of a specified alkyl (meth)acrylate, a specific (meth)acrylate compound, etc., and a specified dimethacrylate compound, excellent in resistance to thermal decomposition and useful as a core material, etc., for optical fiber without any unevenness of refraction. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition containing a copolymer (copolymerization ratio is preferably 5-20 mold) of an alkyl (meth)acrylate and an acrylate or a methethacrylate such as dicyclopentenyl acrylate expressed by the formula CH2=CR1COOR2 or CH2=CR1COO(CH2)nOR2 [R1 is H or methyl; R2 is dicyclopentenyl; (n) is 1 or 2] and a dimethacrylate compound expressed by the formula CH2=C(CH3)CO(OCH2CHR3)mOCOC(CH3)=CH2 [R3 is H or methyl; (m) is 1-10] preferably at O.6-0.75 equiv. ratio based on the crosslinked points. |
