PURPOSE:To carry out copying of an original image and to read information such as characters in the original image at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:The original is exposed and scanned with an optical system 3, the original image conducted by this scanning is formed on a photosensitive body drum 10, this formed image is developed by a developing device 12, and the developed image is transferred to paper. A writing and reading unit 53 reading a part of the original image which is conducted by the optical system 3 is provided movably in the vicinity of the photosensitive body drum 10, the writing and reading unit 53 is moved to a position which is set beforehand according to specification of reading of one part of the original image, and the desired part of the original image is read by the writing and reading unit 53 with this position as a reference. |
