PURPOSE: To quickly inspect size and structure of an elongated pipe with a plurality of ultrasonic converter. CONSTITUTION: Converters X1-X7 are quickly successively pulse excited, and echo signals are introduced through separate RF channels CH1-CH7 and a multiplexer 44 to a smaller number of detection channels CH8-CH12. Discriminators 54-60 are provided in each detection channel. Inspection windows are opened by these discriminator, so that the echo signals are detected, a time mark signal is generated to stop a plurality of clocks, and a pulse echo time interval can be recorded. These data are processed with a computer. |
