PURPOSE:To obtain a solid electrolyte providing a solid electrolyte of copper ionic conductivity having low electrical conductivity and production thereof, for the invention in a solid electrolyte or production thereof, especially in a solid electrolyte useful for electrochemical element such as cells and condensers using a solid electrolyte and production thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a solid electrolyte of oxyacid salf-based copper ionic conductivity, valence of transition metal composing an oxyacid is single valence and melt of the solid electrolyte of the oxyacid salt-based copper ionic conductivity or a raw material composing the solid electrolyte is quenched in an oxygen atmosphere to give the objective a solid electrolyte, and the production method is mentioned.
