Two shafts (6, 7) are provided, arranged parallel to each other, and the axes of which are in a common plane pointing obliquely with respect to the vertical, so as to be offset with respect to each other when they are viewed from above. Each shaft (6, 7) includes, at one of its ends, a series of circular saw blades. With each of the blades of one shaft (6, 7) is associated a blade of the opposite shaft (7, 6) so that each pair of blades is situated in a common vertical plane so that the periphery of each blade is distant from the periphery of the other blade of the same pair and at the same time portions of blades are superimposed with one another, viewed in a projection onto a vertical plane passing through one of the axes of the aforementioned shafts. <IMAGE>
