PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease of the open ratio owing to the sagging of a bulkhead material at the time of forming a bulkhead from the front plate. CONSTITUTION:While the part, except the parts 22a where bulkheads are going to be formed, of a front plate 22 is masked by a mask pattern 25, the parts 22a where bulkheads are going to be formed are roughened in a prescribed depth. The roughened parts 22a where bulkheads are going to be formed are coated with a bulkhead forming material to form bulkheads 27. Since the front plate 22 is surface roughened in the parts where bulkheads are going to be formed, the smoothness, for example, is lowered and steps are formed in response to the depth and the bulkhead forming material is thus prevented from sagging. Consequently, an excellent gas discharging-type display panel with the high open ratio can be obtained. |
