<p>PURPOSE:To exactly segment a character string even when an input document is inclined a little and to efficiently integrate these segmented character strings so as to be able to satisfactorily segment characters. CONSTITUTION:Sub areas are formed by dividing the dot pattern of the input document in the direction of respective character strings, by projecting the dot patterns of the respective sub areas in the direction of the respective character strings, line blocks 11, 12, 21, 31 and 41 are respectively extracted, and the line block in the range of prescribed character string width D is extracted from these line blocks. Then, the line blocks overlapped in an X direction vertical to the direction of the character string in these extracted line blocks are successively connected.</p> |
