PURPOSE: To provide a low-cost dichroic focal surface array sensor having a small size and a light weight of a common light focusing unit. CONSTITUTION: The dichroic focal surface array sensor comprises a telescope 12 for focusing optical energy in the visual field of first and second beams of substantially overlapped first beam of first wavelength spectrum LWIR and second beam of second wavelength spectrum LWIR, a wedge-shape beam splitter 14 having a dichroic layer on the surface of a wedge shape base for redirecting the direction of the energy in the first and second beams and a mirror on the back surface, and detectors 20, 22 disposed to receive the redirected energy to generate an electric signal according to it. |
