The circuit searches a preset specific position with high speed without resetting the tape counter to zero. It is composed of a tape play displaying stage (40), a storing stage of tape counter (41) for storing the counter value when memory key is pressed down into a memory, a deciding stage of specific position (42) for deciding whether the tape reaches the stored counter by comparing comparing current value with the stored value, and a searching stage of specific position (43) for searching the specific position until current count value equals to the value stored in the memory.
