PURPOSE: To simplify circuit constitution, without spoiling high-speed operation and to improve the luminance by alternately placing a couple of register groups in operation and performing serial output on one side, while performing parallel input on the other side when gradational image data are converted into respective weight groups. CONSTITUTION: A substrate 100 is equipped with a tuner 2, which receives a TV signal, a video intermediate-frequency circuit 3 and a video-detecting circuit 4, an A/D conversion circuit 5, which converts a video signal S for gradational display into a digital image and processes it, etc. Further, a couple of shift register groups 20 and 21 alternately perform the parallel input and serial output, and a couple of frame memory means 24 and 25 perform writing and reading frame by frame. Then a plasma display panel drive means generate a sub-screen and displays it in respective discharging maintenance times. |
